note: La Mohea is a working permaculture farm, not a
purpose-built rural guesthouse. As such, while we make every
effort to ensure you enjoy a comfortable stay, please come
prepared for basic facilities (open-air bathroom and compost
toilet), and for the always varying degree of activity and
disorder that you expect from sharing a living and working
environment with a young child, domestic animals, and thousands
of living, growing, plants!
DAY VISITS
- La Mohea is a working farm and we are busy people.
We don't have farm visiting days but are open to serious
visitors. If you are planning a trip in our area and wish to
visit the farm, please contact us to arrange a day for your
visit. We can give you a tour of the farm site, including
introduction to permaculture and our application of permaculture
principles in our work. Contributions to our work, either
financial or in kind, are gratefully received. To ensure a
successful visit, please don't arrive unannounced, as we may be
out for the day or unavoidably busy.
SHORT VISITS - if you are traveling in the area and want to visit the farm or stay the
night here, please contact us to book your overnight stay. We
charge €30 per person for bed, breakfast and evening
meal.
WORKING
HOLIDAYS - A
mixture of learning by active participation and free time. Ideal for
people wishing to find out more about permaculture design and
growing techniques. You join in the daily farm life for 3 days a
week, and do as you please for the other 4 days, for a weekly charge
of €150 for full board and lodging.
VOLUNTARY WORK / WWOOFING
- We have a few places
available for long-term working volunteers (WWOOFers). Volunteers
are involved in all the daily tasks of running the farm and in
exchange for your help we provide you with food and
accommodation, and teach you about the theory and practice of
sustainable agriculture. Applicants should have a keen interest in agriculture
as Wwoofing at La Mohea is also educational but fun.
