Traditinally the Pueblo Blancos (White Villages) do not have Gardens. Here we have what we find most Northern Europeans are looking for. The Villages historically are cluster refuges from the open countryside, and have evolved as nestling housing within tight village boundaries. Most Village people have Fincas or parcels of land for their vegetable production, and treat the village as a getaway so why have a garden. The other reason is as building space is restricted to within the village boundary, most people understandably build on it.
This House was once two small houses, connected internally. Currently habitable if a bit primitive, it has the hallmark of a project to expand upon if required.
On entering the House, we have the Salon with fireplace still in it's traditional condition. To the left of the Salon is a the master (and only) bedroom. From the Salon towards the back door to the garden, we have the Kitchen o the left and a WC under the stairs. The stairs lead to an open loft attic above the salon, hallway and kitchen.
Who does it suit... If you are an individual or couple looking for a summer retreat, it would be possible to move in and clean it up.
If you are looking for something more comfortable and permament, you have the option to have a builder reform the houses, or if you are handy with your hands, you could take on a reform over time.
Potentially the property could be doubled in size, without encroaching on the garden. The bedroom is a single story, and could have a second floor with bedroom. The attic could have the walls raised by a meter, and could incorporate two more bedrooms and a propper bathroom. The Salon could be expanded into the existing downstairs bedroom, and the Kitchen to the back opened out into the hallway.
The Garden
The L shaped garden, backs onto a parallel street, backing onto other gardens, giving good space between the back of the streets.
There are a couple of Orange Trees and a Bay Tree, giving productive shade. The Garden should be treated as a large outside living space, available for three quarters of the year. There are some mountain views from the garden which gives an nice open feeling. With a little landscaping, the garden would be a rare treat.
The keen price of the property allows plenty of scope for enlargement, or a bargain as a 60's style holiday home....
By strict appointment, and serious buyers only.
