On entry into this Village House, the first thing which struck me was how cool and fresh it is in Summer, which is indeed a welcome relief. This will also be reflected in Winter as the typical stone construction means it will be warmer than the ambient temperature.
Situated in the quiet part of the Village, the rear of the house and garden are East facing, bright and sunny in the morning and welcome shade in the hot afternoons. The street is on the edge of the village allowing open country views.
Have a look at the floor plan of the house, which will help explain the photos.
Off the entrance hall (from the street) we have three bedrooms, a salon with fireplace, and a more modern extension with Kitchen and Bathroom. From the Kitchen
there is a stairwell which leads up to a large attic loft. This is above the original part of the house and you will see the original roof beams which are traditionally exposed. Although the house is old and needs a lick of paint it is full of charm and ready to be moved into. The owner may also throw in the furniture...and the washing on the line.
Personally, I would keep the upstairs in it's original state and have it as a large living space (the owner says it's like a New York Apartment). An obvious modification would be to remove the roof over the Kitchen and replace with a roof terrace leading from the upstairs loft and overlooking the garden and country views.
The Garden is not enormous but is big enough to tile and have a decent patio garden with plants etc; There are two young Almond and Plumb Trees in the garden, at the moment it's a little scruffy, but has good potential.
All in all, this house has a nice layout and feeling, and with a little imagination and very little money, could be very charming indeed.
Situated just 25 min from Ronda, 1.5 Hr to Malaga & 2 Hours from Seville and Jerez airports, 45 minuites from the coast. The Village has a shop, bar, hotel, pharmacy, primary school, swimming pool, and the warmest people you could meet....
